STREET TEAM

Welcome to the Iris Records Street Team / promotion page. This is for all of our artists including Benjamin Taylor, Benji Hughes, Carly Simon, David Saw, Emory Joseph, Fisher & Vincent & Mr. Green

We feel that the best way to get the word out to people about our music and various artists is through grassroots marketing. Who better to spread the word than by people who love the music in the first place? By doing any and hopefully all of the following helps us to increase our artists visibility in your cities and towns.

Do what you feel comfortable doing and please let us know what you have done so we know what we are missing in your area. Patty (Patty@irisrecords.com) will help you with anything you need and will be communicating with everyone who is helping out. So have fun, look at the following ways you can help and we’ll hopefully see you soon!

the Iris Records Team.

Word of Mouth

• Tell all of your friends, coworkers, and relatives about our artists, the CDs, the shows, the artist websites:

Benjamin Taylor
Benji Hughes
Carly Simon
David Saw
Emory Joseph
Fisher
Vincent & Mr. Green

• Post in other newsgroups that you are a part of or visit. Include the URL’s to our artist and Iris Records websites for easy access to those interested.

• Buy CDs of all of our Iris Records artists for friends and family. They make great gifts! • Bring friends and family to our shows.

• Pass out flyers and hang posters in your area. Local coffee shops, venues, stores, etc are great places to ask to hang.

Current Tour Flyers are posted here for you to download.

INTERNET

Along with spreading the word physically and via internet you can also do the following:

• Join StumbleUpon. StumbleUpon is actually an incredibly cool tool for finding the most amazing websites out there. It will take a few moments to get into the swing of things at first. You need to go to the StumbleUpon.com, join StumbleUpon, and then download the StumbleUpon toolbar. After you have done all this, re-open your browser, and you’ll see the StumbleUpon functions loaded in there. Good. Now hit the SU logo in the far left hand side, and “StumbleUpon” your first awesome suggestion from StumbleUpon. Keep hitting that logo for new sites. It’s addictive.

• After getting over the addiction of it all, navigate to the YouTube video we’re asking you to promote for the month and give it a “thumbs up” on the tool bar. Thank you for that. Why do this? Because the more thumbs up a site/video receives from Stumblers, the more hits it gets from other Stumblers. I gave a friend of mine a thumbs up on her website, for example, and she got about 200 hits through StumbleUpon along per day for about a week. The hits will eventually subside if no one else in the StumbleUpon network gives your page a thumbs up.

If you have a webpage or myspace account please embed our videos by going to youtube or Vimeo and grabing the embed codes.

• Go to digg.com and sign up for an account. This will allow you to dig URLS, thus sending other like-minded people there, too. I originally signed up with digg for the purpose of promoting videos, but have found in the meantime that it is also a great way of promoting anything on the internet you think would be worthwhile for others to see. The most dugg stories of the day hit the front page and then get a lot more traffic by virtue of being there. MOST IMPORTANTLY, Go to Facebook and become friends with our artists then go to youtube.com and sign up for an account. This is the only way you can rate videos, leave comments and all that important viral making stuff.
